First baseman Paul Konerko smashed 2 homeruns as the Nimrod Numnuts defeated
the Tampico Stogies 8 to 2 at Numnuts Bowl.
Konerko had a big day at the plate. He smashed a bases-empty 'big-fly' in the
6th inning and cleared the bases with a Grand Slam homerun (his 18th of the
season) in the 7th inning. Overall Nimrod out-hit Tampico 11 to 6.
The victory was credited to Roy Oswalt(12-17) who went 7 and 2/3 innings,
allowing 1 run. Cliff Lee(5-13) was charged with the loss. He allowed 3 runs
and 6 hits in 5 innings.
